Annual General Assembly of CLGE in Limassol, 2023

On the 8th and 9th of September, 2023, the Annual General Assembly of CLGE (Council of European Geodetic Surveyors), was held succesfully at the Cyprus University of Technology, in Limassol, Cyprus. The meeting was co-organized by the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics of Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and the Cyprus Association of Rural and Surveying Engineers (CARSE).

The Council of European Surveyors (Comité de Liaison des Géomètres Européens-CLGE) was founded in1962. The council’s mission is to represent and promote the interests of the geodetic surveying profession in the private and public sector in Europe, including the creation of permanent forum for European geodetic surveyors, who are committed to European co-operation. Also, the promotion and exchange of technical, scientific, educational and organisational know-how with the European states and the provision of assistance to member countries, to national associations and EU institutions on request, such as Cyprus.

The CLGE Executive Board including Vladimir Krupa, Kalogiannakis Michalis, Nicolas SMITH, Matjaž Grilc, Duncan M., Enrico Rispoli, Maria Grazia Scorza, Janis Klive, Francisco Jose Darder García, Sarah Sherlock, Marineli Dancheva, Hamidreza Ostadabbas had fruitful discussions with representatives from the Cyprus brands, such as Mr. Dimitris Kakoullis, President of CARSE and Mr. Melios Agathangelou, Vice President of CARSE, highlighting that “It was a privilege to network with fellow professionals and  exchange insights and new ideas contributing to the advancement of geodetic surveying practices in Europe. The Cyprus Association of Rural and Surveying Engineers is more than ready to join our Code of Professional Qualifications for Property Surveyors”. Dr. Chris Danezis, Head of the CUT Laboratory of Geodesy, stated: ‘When there is high employment you must prepare recession, and for this, such international cooperation is essential!’
